10 Secrets for a stress-free wedding morning!

Planning out the morning of your wedding is something that tends to get overlooked in the process of wedding planning. We think it’s essential to put in the effort to create a detailed plan for your wedding morning, since you’ll want to start off your special day on the best note possible.

We are passionate about creating a calm and positive atmosphere to get ready for your wedding day. While seeing many brides get ready in our bridal suite here at The Ruby Manor, we’ve learned the best tips for a smooth and fun wedding morning. Here’s our complete guide with all the best tips to having a stress-free wedding morning!

1. Create your wedding morning playlist in advance

A few days before your wedding morning, be sure to create the playlist you want for getting ready. Always choose songs that you LOVE, and that also set the mood you’d like for your morning. Do you want more relaxing, mellow music to keep you calm and collected? Or do you want to get pumped up for your day, and have a mini party the morning of your wedding? Think about this as you plan your playlist!

We also recommend you designate one of your bridesmaids, or someone who will be getting ready with you, to be in charge of bringing a speaker, and playing the music.

2. Plan out what you’re eating for breakfast the day before your wedding

You need to eat the morning of your wedding, so plan that out as well! Will you be ordering breakfast? Will someone cook you a something homemade? Be sure to plan this out so that you don’t scramble to find something to eat once you wake up on your wedding day.

3. Pack your purse the night before your wedding

This is an often overlooked detail on wedding mornings. Waiting until the last minute to pack your purse usually means you’ll forget something important! Have everything ready the night before, so that you can ask one of your bridesmaids to grab your bag, and you’ll know they have everything you’ll need.

A great tip is to also ask the venue if you’re allowed to drop off some of your items the night before your wedding, so you have even less to think about the morning of your wedding day.

4. Make sure you have a steamer & sewing kit on hand for you and your bridesmaids

Although everyone should make sure to steam their dresses the night before the wedding, touch ups are always needed! Make sure to have a steamer on hand to help out anyone who needs to fix a crease that may have appeared during the getting ready process.

You also never know when you’ll need an emergency sewing kit, so having one on hand in the morning, and throughout the wedding day as well. It will save so many headaches the morning of your wedding.

5. Have a detailed schedule planned out in advance

Just like you need a schedule for your wedding day, you also need one for getting ready. You can never plan out too many details on a wedding day. Be sure to give yourself enough time for everything, because it’s better to be ahead of schedule than behind! Think about what you need, what’s important to you, and what you take the most time to do.

It’s also a great idea to give your schedule to a bridesmaid, so they can help warn everyone of timing throughout the morning.

6. Take a moment to thank your bridesmaids before your big day begins

Take a few minutes out of your morning to stop and gather with your bridesmaids before you officially start your day. Stopping to thank them for all the support they’ve shown you during the planning process, and for being with you on your special day, will mean the world to them. It’ll definitely be a moment you’ll cherish long after your wedding day.

7. Plan a first look with your soon-to-be-spouse

A first look is one of our favourite ways for a couple to start their wedding day. It’s such an intimate way for you to share quality time with your partner before the ceremony. Sometimes weddings can bring up some nerves for a couple, and a first look is the best time to connect and prepare for the special moment ahead.

8. Write a list of all the important details you want your photographer to photograph, and hand it to them before your wedding day

You’ve likely taken time to plan and choose special details on your wedding day, like your shoes, jewelry, family heirlooms, invitations, and more. You’ll definitely want to remember these details for years to come. Be sure to list out important objects and details for the photographer, so they don’t miss anything while you get ready! You’ll be able to focus on yourself knowing your photographer will know exactly what details need to be photographed.

9. Get ready in the same space you’d like to take your wedding morning/getting ready photos

Getting ready in the same location that you’ll be taking your getting ready photos and bridal portraits will save you so much time! It will also help you maximize on the amount of photos you’ll be able to take, since no time will be taken by travelling to a photoshoot location.
